Meet Solidus.

Your vision. A considered approach. Care at every step.

Founded by Army veteran Dean Landry, Solidus designs and installs concrete floor coatings for residential and select commercial spaces, including healthcare project inquiries, across the Rio Grande Valley. Project travel is available as far as Houston and San Antonio.

We bring your vision into the conversation, define the work, and explain each stage. From the preparation underneath the finish to the way it looks in your space, the details deserve a plan.

The family behind Solidus

Five kids.
Nine dogs.
One very full life.

For Dean, family is the reason behind the business. Life with five kids, nine dogs, and his amazing wife is full of personality, activity, and the kind of everyday moments that make a house a home.

He loves his dogs, including his Maltese and Corgi. He also understands why people care so much about a favorite car, a personal workshop, or a place where everyone can gather.

That full family life helps him understand the need for a great look, a great result, and a finish chosen for long-term use. Quality means taking your space seriously, thinking through preparation and system selection, and creating something you can enjoy and care for over time.

The person behind the plan

Dean Landry

Here for every step.

Army veteran Dean Landry knows the value of making a plan and following it through. He is detail-oriented, process-focused, and fascinated by the science behind how concrete, preparation, and coating systems work together.

He cares about the details you can see and the ones beneath the finish: surface condition, moisture considerations, preparation, product compatibility, and curing requirements. Those questions help shape a recommendation for your project.

For Dean, good communication is part of good workmanship. You should understand what you’re getting for your money, how the work will unfold, and what to expect from the finished floor.

When a condition needs another look, he works through the options with you. His goal is thoughtful execution and a customer who feels informed from the first conversation through the final handover.

Your project.
A little more good.

A portion of every sale is donated in the customer’s name to a local nonprofit helping feed veterans and meet the needs of veterans in the area.

For Dean, caring for a home or business and caring for the people around it belong together. Your project becomes part of that commitment.

Dean’s working philosophy

Prep first.
Finish second.

The finished surface brings your vision into the room. The preparation gives that finish its foundation.

For Dean, the two belong together: understand what’s underneath, plan the work carefully, and execute with attention to the details. That care extends to making sure you understand the process, too.
